Just a few things to remember:

1. Always use your first name and last name initial to sign your entries. Your privacy and safety are important to me, so last names are off limits...except for mine:)

2. Make sure anything you say in this space is appropriate. If you don't agree with what somenoe else says, state your opinion in a logical and mature way without name calling or insults. Not cool.

3. Do not pretend to be someone else. This a huge leap of faith that I'm taking with you guys. You have to be responsible and do the work assigned to you. I'm trusting you to do the right thing, so stay honest and we'll be good to go.

4. This blog is about you and the thoughts you have about the stories we are reading, so do me a favor and EXPRESS YOUSELVES! Tell me what your thoughts and feelings are about these stories. What are you learning about yourself? What are you larning about others? Are you learning anything??

The next few weeks are going to fly by, and we're going to be working hard, so make sure you do everything you can to keep up! If you have problems or questions about posting, just let me know and I'll do what I can to help. Have fun!

  4. Well hello Ms. Whitney's class
I am suber confused on this story. Was Ann Marie a pedofile? Why was he talking to a teenage girl, hes like, a billion years old. Thats gross and wrong. I did sort of like the story though. It was better than most we read.

  7. First of all...Everyone in this window posted to the wrong blog. You were supposed to choose the comment box titled Dear Marsha:) Check next time to be sure you are posting in the right spot.

Secondly, I am sensing a common theme here. A lot of you thought that Anne Marie was a pedifile just because she befriended this girl. In my opinion, Anne Marie is a person who obviously cares about other people and children in general. Not in a creepy way, but in a motherly way. She sensed that Marsha was having a difficult time and instead of turning her back on her due to their age difference she tried to offer advice and help this girl out of her slump. I agree that it could appear a little weird and that it might have done some damage to Marsha's self-esteem when she realized she was talking to an adult instead of a peer, but it also might have been the only thing that helped her to keep her head held high. That to me, is what is most important.
